Although the coding of my portfolio was a pain, I think that I accomplished my goals in the end. I was able to showcase a variety of my talents and hobbies through various work I have done both digitally and non digitally. I was able to show that not only am I computer savvy but I also have talents with social networking, photography and with fabric dying and modification. In the future I plan to add other examples of my craft work once I have time to photograph them including things I have sewn, knitted, sandblasted and refinished.
I think that the primary audience for my website is future employers or professors or possibly someone who wants to have craftwork commissioned or be taught how to do some craftwork. It will be something I can update and use in the future to add to a resume. It is tailored to a large audience because of the variety of content that I used.
It also helps create a digital identity even more since my username for almost everything is bellekid, the exception to this is my Facebook where I used nbelle to be more professional.
I am pleased with my work although it took longer than I thought it would. I still plan on switching my gallery of fabric modification projects from Facebook to flickr but did not have time since I need to download my photos from Facebook then re-upload them to flickr.
If I was an employer I may hire myself. I do not think my portfolio will help much with a job I would really like, like working with HIV/AIDS issues in DC but it may help if they would like someone who is computer and new media savvy.
