Unfortunately, I am not very savvy with using image editors, so there was a lot more I wanted to accomplish with my image, but couldn't figure out how to do it. Anyway, my image is data collected on student debt in the '08-'09 school year. For my other challenge my argument was about graduation ceremony and the seating being first come first serve. This image is a way of supporting my argument. In my original persuasive essay I talked about how hard students had worked to graduate from a top university and how it would be unfair that their family members aren't guaranteed a seat to watch them receive their diploma. This image shows the sacrifice made by many students to earn a college degree. Just in the class of '08-'09, 57% of students had debt, that's over half the graduating class! The average student debt was $16,000! That to me would be enough to have seating guaranteed to family members, since this debt will likely haunt students for many years to come. The point is students have worked hard to graduate, and will still be working hard to pay off their debt, so family members should have seats to watch their son, daughter, granddaughter, etc. get that final reward. I wanted to make a triangle to lead to each piece of information in the image because they are all related to one another, wherever you start the person looking at it will get the big picture. So I used the principle of alignment to get my point across.
