Challenge

While visiting some friends near Gettysburg, we visited the battlefield. I look a Diana + with some black and white 35mm film, and snapped a few shots. This, weirdly enough, was one of them.

I was asked to house-sit for an older woman that I had met through my grandparents. She lives on Cook Road, a decent drive away from my own house so I decided to spend the night. I had only spoken to her a couple of days before about watching the house and I felt like all she could talk about was how the house was beginning to scare her with its spirits. I figured she was just reaching that age where everything scares her and spirits are the easiest thing to blame it on. Then, during the night I was there, I heard a strange low humming sound coming from the backyard.

A few years ago my grandparents told me about a startling vacation they took to Europe 40 years ago. Like most tourists they went on tours of different castles, cathedrals, and museums, but one museum in Paris stuck out from the rest. While my grandparents were viewing one of the galleries by themselves they said they felt a strong wind come through the room. Since the window was closed they guessed it must have been their imagination. A few weeks later when they were looking through the pictures they took of that room they were shocked to find a boy reaching to open the window.

I saw this image on one of those ghost cam websites. As far as I know, no one was supposed to be in this stairwell at the time I was looking, so it's pretty creepy that you can pretty clearly see the outline of a head and shoulders.

Legend has it that years ago at the old amusement park, a little girl would ride the carousel over and over, refusing to leave until closing time. They say one night, she never came home. The whole town was out searching, but to no avail. Eventually her memory faded into local legend, but sometimes on warm summer nights, you may not be the only one on carousel at closing time.

My family owns a large plot of land that my private motocross track is located on, also on this large plot of land there is an old field house in the woods. we would have demolished this house but we decided that we would put a refridgerator in it so when my friends are out riding on a hot day we can go to the old house for shade and to get a gatorade from the refridgerator. this past weekend a few of my friends and i were taking a break from riding and decided to treat ourselves to some ice cold gatorades.

There is an old legend that circulated around my dorm freshman year. One of the construction workers who helped build the dorm had to bring his son to work with him one day. He brought his son's bike along so he would have something to keep him entertained. His one rule was to not play near the elevator shaft. While the son was riding his bike in the hallway, he got a little too close and plummeted down the 10 stories to his death. To this day rumors of his ghost being seen in the basement are whispered throughout the dorm.
